Ten years ago the Hidden City Festival brought art and ideas to nine remarkable yet often overlooked historic sites throughout Philadelphia. The most popular, despite its far-flung Tacony location, was Disston Saw Works. Once the largest producer of saws in the world, today the company is known as Disston Precision and still produces saw blades. To celebrate the Festival's 10th anniversary, we're heading back to Disston for a tour led by company president Ring Lardner. We'll also be accompanied by artists Carolyn Healy and John Phillips whose multi-media installation for the 2009 Festival, Running True, incorporated numerous artifacts found on the Disston grounds and imagery derived from early engineering drawings from company files. Don't miss this extraordinarily rare chance to take a look behind the scenes at perhaps Philadelphia's greatest legacy manufacturer!

Please wear suitable closed toe shoes (and leave the fancy ones at home). We regret that not all areas are wheelchair accessible.
