Did you know that the Wyck House’s collection includes more than 10,000 items spanning the home’s 300+ year history? And did you know that you, as a member of Hidden City, have the opportunity to get behind the scenes and up into the attic to view the collection on a very special house tour?! Join us on Saturday, May 4th at 10:30 AM for an exclusive Hidden City Members’ Tour of the Wyck House and collection.

Wyck is a National Historic Landmark house, garden, and farm in Germantown and was a family home for nine generations. The house itself is a reflection of the Quaker commitment to simplicity and function and is now dedicated to promoting education, horticulture, natural history, and preservation. The collections are stored in the upper stories of the modest, but innovative, William Strickland-renovated farmhouse and include furnishings, clothing, toys, natural history specimens, and more. We’ll get a glimpse behind the scenes with Tess Frydman, Director of Interpretation and Public Outreach.

Due to very limited capacity of the upper floors, this special tour is capped at 15. The tour also includes climbing old, winder staircases and navigating tight spaces. Unfortunately, this tour is not accessible for those with limited mobility.

Questions, concerns, conundrums? Contact Hidden City project director Pete Woodall at 267-259-7112.
