Once a bustling industrial hub, the docks between Pier 70 and Pier 53 have fallen silent, overgrown with a lush forest as the piers crumble slowly into the Delaware River. Tour guide John Vidumsky tells the history of this former industrial landscape and the accidental wildlife refuge it has become. Lizzie Woods, Planning and Project Manager at the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, will explain how the waterfront will be reborn as a series of public parks connected by a bike trail. We will be stopping in places to venture onto the piers on foot, so bring a bike lock and good walking shoes. Tour will conclude at the newly-opened park at Pier 53.
