Powelton is an amazing neighborhood, and we'll be touring some of its most remarkable buildings. If you missed it during the Hidden City Festival, now is the time to, well, gape at Hawthorne Hall. Concealed within this ornate apartment block is a small theater that was once home to several fraternal lodges and church congregations. Now its home to a stunning installation created by the artist collective Rabid Hands for the 2013 Hidden City Festival.

We'll also visit the Tiberino Museum located almost next door and The Cloisters, a church that has been converted into housing. We'll also take a walk and check out the Divine Tracy(once owned by Father Divine's Peace Mission Movement), the Hotel Powelton (Albert Barnes's first factory)and Poth House.

This two hour walking tour will be led by Rachel Hildebrandt, All-Star writer for the Hidden City Daily, M.A. in Historic Preservation from UPenn and now working at Partners for Sacred Places. Please make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a good hat and sunscreen!
